There is absolutely and 100% nothing wrong with treating ourselves. We deserve it!
We show up to our jobs, to our gyms, to our homes, and to our schools. We work our behinds off to do the best we can in all places. That’s why we deserve to treat ourselves.
For each of us, treating ourselves means different things. It can mean a bubble bath, a glass of wine, but since it’s Food Friday, let’s talk about desserts.
Desserts are gifts to our taste buds. Cupcakes, cookies, pies, tarts, macaroons, the sweet list goes on and on.
It dawned on me. When we allow ourselves a treat, we are thanking ourselves for our hard work.
Now, we have to remember to be smart about it. We can’t go ahead and order the whole dessert menu when we take so much time in our fitness journeys.
However, what we can do is set a rule or boundary for treats. Not only does it allow us to use discipline, but it allows the sweets to taste even better.
For me, I focus on having a treat once a week and at night. Once a week to make sure I don’t over do it. And at night, to not give myself an excuse to eat like crap the rest of the day.
As a fitness and lifestyle blogger, I find that balance is important. We can eat our salads and vegetables, while still treating ourselves to sugars and goodies.
We can go that bakery and order a slice of fresh chocolate mousse cake. However, it is also important for us to make sure we do not sabotage our healthy lifestyles in the meantime.
Treating ourselves is needed. We work hard and we sweat hard. Let’s treat ourselves.
