10 Positive Affirmations to Motivate You When It Gets Tough

We all go through tough times. When the going gets tough, there is power in positive affirmation. Affirmations help us throughout our toughest times by helping us to overcome and challenge all those nasty thoughts we’re facing in our minds.

I’m a firm believer that when it gets tough for us in any area of our life, a positive affirmation can help us get it all the way together. Repeating what we need to hear for ourselves has such power day after day, minute after minute, second after second.

I’d love to share 10 positive affirmations that will motivate you when it gets tough. These are words I like to repeat to myself and words that I find encouraging whenever I’m going through my toughest times.

There’s no one like me and that’s my power. The beauty of being you is that no one in this whole world is like you. You are unique, you are different, and you cannot be replicated!

I can and I will. No matter what obstacle comes your way. You can and you will.

I’m beautifully and wonderfully made. This is a Biblical reference, however doesn’t have to be tied to any religion when we hear it. We are made so beautifully and wonderfully from being inside of the womb to being the person we are now. How amazing AF is that?

This is only temporary. Whatever hardship you are going through, it won’t last forever. It may feel like it now, but it is not going to last a lifetime.

I will learn and become stronger from this. An obstacle is something we can learn from. Keeping the “woe is me” attitude will only prolong the negativity and keep us from really learning and becoming better from it.

I let go of everything that doesn’t serve me. This affirmation is one I’ve been repeating to myself. There’s is enough room for everyone. Whenever the competitive streak hits, this is a powerful one for us to repeat. There is enough for everyone, including you and me.

I’m grateful for where I am right now. Where we are right now is for a reason. Whether it’s our highest high or lowest low, expressing gratitude will allow us to see the positivity and opportunity in our current situation.

I will not compare myself to strangers on the Internet. I’m not sure who started this one, but I saw it on Instagram one day. And I love it. Social media has been a relationship that I’ve been looking to really shift lately and this affirmation just hits it on the head.

I love you. Last but not least, how often do we tell ourselves these three words? I’ve been saying I love myself so often and it’s changed so much in my life.

These are the positive affirmations I wanted to share with you when it gets tough. I use all of these dependent on certain situations in my life. Right now, I’m dealing with so much from heartbreak to entrepreneurialism and letting go of what doesn’t serve me has been resonating more than the others listed.

Have you ever repeated positive affirmations to yourself? They can be in the car, on the train, in your bed, said outloud, repeated in your mind, whatever is best for you. Repeating powerful words to yourself does make a difference. It’s made a difference in my own.
